It was another musical treat in Oxford when the British funk-instrumental band New Mastersounds came to our favorite little live music venue, Proud Larry's. These guys a retro mix of old-school funk and soul jazz - all original music, but with a heaping scoop of James Brown sounds tossed into a Grant Green stew.
Guitarist Eddie Roberts is the star, fueling the dance party with lightning leads so buttery smooth and tasty.

...and Simon Allen on the drums. Hey, it might not be the most original-sounding band on the planet, but you can't help but shake your hips when these guys are playing!
